Netherlands End On High

12. Chatilla van Grinsven (Netherlands)
Chatilla van Grinsven chipped in with a useful 10 points

The Netherlands have been able to take something away from their weekend in Luxembourg, defeating their hosts 77-53 to finish the EuroBasket Women 2015 1st Qualification Round group stage on a high.

Following disappointing losses in their opening two games, the Netherlands never looked like experiencing a similar feeling again on Sunday as some tenacious defence restricted their opponents to five points in an opening frame.

Luxembourg were being shown no mercy from their neighbours in the second frame as the Dutch pushed ahead, turning their 11-point lead at the end of the opening quarter (16-5) into a 21-point buffer at the half (39-18), courtesy of their outside shooting display.

Sharing the scoring duties in the first two quarters, the Dutch mantra remained the same in the third period as 11 of their players registered on the score sheet with the lead pushing past 30 points.

With the game in the bag, Meindert van Veen was allowed the luxury of turning to his bench in the final ten minutes with all 12 of his players making an appearance. It slightly hurt his team's momentum but never the end result.

Topping the Netherlands scoring charts was Natalie van den Adel with 13 points. One behind with 12 were Tanya Broring and Rianne De Roos whilst Chatilla van Grinsven chipped in with 10.

Cathy Schmit led all scoring with 17 points.
