|Poland were too strong in the end for Luxembourg|
Jacek Winnicki and his team made light work of safely despatching their opponents, since even if Luxembourg did score two of the first three baskets in the contest, it was most certainly not a sign of things to come.
Although to their credit, for much of the opening half the visitors proved a handful at times and played enough defence to ensure Poland couldn't streak away.
It was rising star and the highly rated 16-year-old Lisa Jablonowski who scored for Luxembourg to keep the hosts within their sights at 24-17.
But, from that point onwards, it was very much one-way traffic as the home team put their foot on the accelerator.
A 15-3 run either side of the interval had Poland engaged on cruise control and they were able to see out the remainder of the game by shutting Luxembourg down defensively.
Magdalena Skorek had an efficient 14 points for Poland who still have UMMC Ekaterinburg star Ewelina Kobryn to come into their line-up.
Jablonowski had nine points and five rebounds for Luxembourg.
