|Jennifer Fleischer shined for Israel with a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds in 21 minutes on the court|
A sensational haul of 17 points and 17 rebounds by Jennifer Fleischer inspired Israel to both a 72-56 win against the F.Y.R. of Macedonia and a semi-final place in the EuroBasket Women 2015 1st Qualification Round.
The forward was on fire with the ball in her hands, making seven-of-ten from the field and also excelling on the glass to help her team seal top place in Group D.
The F.Y.R. of Macedonia fought hard for long spells and even held a 19-14 first period advantage.
But, despite a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds from naturalised Chrissy Givens, there wasn't enough scoring power to prevail - only Slavica Dimovska managing to also claim a double-figure score.
It was a crucial factor, as was a disastrous second period, when Israel took control of the game by outscoring the F.Y.R. of Macedonia 26-12 to swing the momentum firmly in their favour.
With Liron Cohen pulling the strings to superb effect for Israel and eventually finishing with seven assists, it ended up being a long night for the F.Y.R. of Macedonia who could barely buy a basket outside of Givens.
Despite momentarily threatening a comeback in the third quarter, it never materialised and Israel coasted to the win with a strong closing 10 minutes.
Shay Doron (16 points), Cohen (12 points) and Katia Levitsky (11 points) all scored in double figures for Israel to support the headline numbers of Fleischer.
