Greece claimed an 80-68 victory against Luxembourg to confirm an exciting showdown against Group A rivals Estonia for a place in the semi-finals of the EuroBasket Women 2015 1st Qualification Round.
Following up their nail-biting win against the Netherlands 24 hours earlier, George Dikeoulakos and his team posted a scorching start by pouring in 30 points during the first quarter.
It gave them a 16-point lead which put them in command from the outset, although it was far from plain sailing against a plucky Luxembourg side who never relented.
In fact, the underdogs won the second quarter 16-10 to narrow the gap by half-time and despite falling 20 points behind in the penultimate period, they threatened an upset with a fantastic run.
An eye-opening18-5 burst across the final quarter break got them within touching distance at 63-56.
Whilst Greece failed to find the extra gear needed to significantly accelerate away again, they did at least have enough to just about keep their opponents at arm's length.
Veteran Olga Chatzinikolaou was the pick of Greek performers with an impressive 20 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Nadia Mossong was outstanding despite finishing on the losing side and registered a game-high 23 points.
